I think with resins you have more control of the look of the materials, but you still have to envision(or luck out) what is hidden under the surface. While I prefer wood myself, some resins are quite attractive!

Geez Steve, how is it possible to continually top perfection. You must be a Wizard and you made your wand from that very same tree.
But seriously that is an amazing looking brush handle, and I haven't seen quite that shape before. You definitely continually amaze with your ability to carve the perfect shape out of each piece of that spectacular tree. I'm glad it fell in the yard of someone capable of such artistry.
