FYI: Monteverde makes a blue-black ballpoint refill that I really like. I use the blue-black Cross refill as my forms and signature pen at work. I much prefer the Monteverde blue-black to Cross' (or most anyone for that matter) standard blue refills.
I generally prefer a straight black refill and when I want something to stand out a bit, but not be too garish, the blue-black is perfect.
