Miniature straight.

Good friend of mine says he wants a straight razor pendant, but he doesn't want a "crappy sterling silver one". "I want one that cuts!" He's kinda big and rough lookin, full time tattoo artist and looks the part. Sooo......what my good friend wants he gets. I chopped and ground a beat up and broken unusable Fromm straight today. Lots to do still. Will scale it in little custom black horn scales with nickel silver and stainless.
This is gonna be fun:thumbup:

i was considering my question on how to hang it and decided u might be able to leave a tab protruding from or into the wedge area with a hole for an attachment point. that would leave it being able to open easily. just a thought. tom

Thank you Tom. I was toying with the idea of maybe a third hole in the wedge end with a ring through it . Another obstacle is keeping the blade closed......maybe a Torrey design where there are "arms" made with the scales the grab the blade and hold it in place. Very doable.

u might use a magnet around a third pin blade rest to help keep the blade in with a tight pivot pin. just another thought. tom

I've made miniature knives for a while, but have yet to make a miniature straight. Looks like you're off to a good start!

I think you should solder a small ring onto the tail. It can be hung from it and also prevent it from opening accidentally on the wearers chest/neck. Or Harbour Freight sells a small pack of carbide drill bits for like $6. Plenty of other shop uses with the dremel/drill press.
