Hi everyone,

Ive read in a few threads about mineral oil application. Here i have two application pens and i was wondering how would i go about applying mineral oil to my razors? $IMG_2934.jpg

great question!!
i got some oil for sewing machine that I think is suitable for use on my slim... I know that someone around B&B can answer this thread

Gentlemen (and ladies):

Although far from being an expert from what I have learned on B&B most folks usually recommended a couple of drops down the opening of the TTO mechanism, then stand the razor on it's end to let the mineral oil penetrate and lubricate the mechanism. After a thorough cleaning this has worked very well for me.

Early in my razor hoarding, um, collecting days, I gave them a mineral oil soak. Chris cured me of this procedure by convincing me it would collect more dirt that way.

Good luck and enjoy your shaves.

Good advice.

After outer cleaning, stand the razor up somewhere where it can't be disturbed and using an eye dropper just place a couple of drops in the top of the mechanism, check it the next day and if needed add another couple of drops. You don't need to flood the mechanism, but you may want to gently work the mechanism to help the oil work through. Just remember don't force it.

And when you're finished lubricating the razor, you'll have a razor that has been set up to accomulate gunk which will then get harder and harder. There is no need to lubricate razors. They don't operate at high heat. They don't have high tolerance moving parts that will wear out. If lubrication is needed, water will do fine. Oil will however continue to get more and more viscous over time and will gunk up your razor.
