been shaving for a long time, always a gillette. i am trying to corner the market on gillette platinum plus blades, which i think are the best. how do wet shavers compare merkur's best against the gillette? never tried a merkur. thanks, dave
Merkur blades are generally considered to be flat out junk by most people. I wouldn't go so far as to say they are junk. They are just average blades, nothing special about them. Certainly not good enough to command the high price tag they usually go for.
They are 100 blades for $45 at West Coast Shaving. That makes them more expensive than just about every other DE blade out there, including the vastly superior Feather blades that are $40 for 100.
