Merkur Vision Question

I just purchased the Merkur Vision set with the stand, bowl, and brush and had my first shave with it just now. Everything is fine except one thing which seems weird to me. When I tighten down the adjustable part of the razor all the way the guard actually covers up the blade making it impossible to shave with. Is this normal?

Mine does this too. Pretty sure it is normal. Maybe a safety feature or something? I am going to get a stiffer spring for mine, in any case.

There is a adjustment collar in the bottom of the handle.
Take of the bottom lid and silo knob and you will see it.
Turn collar with screwdriver clockwise, re-assemble and check the cap again.

How's the brush and bowl.

I have the futur 4pc set and want to get the vision. I was just going to buy the razor, but I noticed the Vision brush seems to have a thicker handle. Also the brush looks fuller and longer than the futur brush.

What do you think about the glass bowl? I'm afraid of dropping and breaking it.

If you don't have set the adjuster mechanism right, the doors will rattle, even with a blade in them. This is most displeasing in my eyes. That's if it's too high(anti-clockwise). If it is too low, the blade will be under the guard bar on the lower settings. Unacceptable. Find that middle groung, and try to stay on it. The Futur is far better designed and built, but I love the way the Vision looks. It shaves well, but it is finicky.
