Merkur slant bars - german sellers

Hi guys,

My father's off to Berlin shortly and I wonder if there are any deals to be had on the Merkur razors in Germany? If so where can they be found in Berlin.

They probably have a lot of factory seconds due to finish flaws. Maybe you can get them at cut rate prices.

If he's going to Berlin I don't think he'll be getting anything from the factory since, by car, Solingen is 5 and a half hours south west of Berlin.

I'm not too certain you will be able to find very many slants there either. Merkur had an issue with a third party provider for their slants a number of months ago. They have been waiting to resolve the issues before they produce any more slants. The ones that are left in the marketplace are all that will be available for a couple of months still.

I know a lot of people like to deride Merkur for their production issues but based on the large numbers of razors they produce, I find their quality control to be fairly high. I own a number of Merkur razors and have always been satisfied with their quality. Most folks on this forum own Merkur razors and like any factory produced item you will get defects, but I think by and large most people here are pretty satisfied with their Merkur razors.

LOL. Maybe I should have googled the location first.

I have 3 Merkur Razors: 34c HD, Satin Futur and a 37g. I can't fault them (even the 37g).

Sorry mate, I can't help with stockist. Does the Merkur site list stockists?

Just looking at the site now...found a German online supplier at 38euro the equivalent of £30 so no saving tbh....

Probably stick with a reliable uk seller ;-)

Not quite what you were asking for, but have him pick up some Speik and Palmolive shaving soaps and creams at Müller or DM stores, they are delightfully cheap.
