Merkur Slant bar razor.BIG crush

Yeahhh, I kinda have a serious crush with my recently acquired slant 37c I got last week.......

This isnt my first rodeo with slants though, ive owned both models a few years back, and liked them, but wasnt "in like" with them. So I sold them off, I dont remember what I got to replace them with.

Im getting near bbs shaves with 2 wtg passes, which is my normal routine. Also, there are 2 problem areas on my face/neck, that this razor has solved, and it solved them quickly!! I have a spot on the side of my upper chin, where part of your goatee would be, and then on my lowest part of my neck that I shave, on each side. These areas have the thickest growth, and even with good prep, angles, pressure, etc etc, would always kinda hurt when I shaved them, even with fresh feather blades, OC razors, you name it, ive tried it. But, its been super different with the slant, it literally slices through these areas without any pain, its like a hot knife through butter. Even better, no burning with the clubman AS afterwards. I dont know the exact magic these razors possess, but Im a believer now. Very, very efficient razor, not overly aggressive either.

Thats my first week in a nutshell with the 37c.

One of my top three, its a BBS machine. A little too much for me with a feather but for me with a voskhod blade, it gives me a great shave all the time with less irritation than other razors

I'm getting my 39c delivered tomorrow, I can't wait to take it for a test shave, I hope I'll like it.

Ive owned a 39c before, and it is one heck of a razor....Im contemplating adding the sledgehammer now, I am finding the only gripe with the 37 is that, I wish the handle was a bit longer. I dont have huge hands, but I think they are a little too big for the 37.

I used a 37C for the first time yesterday. I have a bunch of Perma Sharp blades from another Member, so I loaded one of those. Got a real nice shave. I think when it will really shine is when I have gone a few days without shaving. But overall a very nice smooth shave. Glad to see another member is enjoying the 37C.

I've been contemplating on myself. Are they hard to navigate beneath the nose on the upper lip because of the awkward head design?

i'm new to the slant game, but i've used my 37C a handful of times and haven't had any issues.....period. no cuts, weepers, trouble areas, etc.
as much as i don't want a go-to razor(i want to use them all), this one is out performing my others.

39C is an exceptional shaver and not half as intimidating as it is sometimes made out to be. It really scythes the stubble away.

39C is a real dog of war. Coupled with a hard sharp blade (e.g. Perma Sharp, Rapira, Astra) is... Perfect!

Shave #7 with the same feather blade, still going strong. Dont tell me the slant has even more hidden magic, by being able to make my blades last longer too.....What a win/win situation for me. Perfect shaves, and blade life extension. Do I dare try going for 10?

I was all set to buy one of the Merkur slants, until I found a nice AS-D1 on the BST that I've come to really like... but with all of the wonderousness (Lol), that I read about these 'misshapen' razors, my curiosity still runs high. Maybe one of theses days...

I purchased the 39C and the 37C and used both for a while. I ended up sticking with the 37C due to it's slightly more nimble nature. I have XL hands but I can tell you that after a few used the length of the 37C is actually a plus for getting the job done easily. Both great razors.

She's been a sweetheart, a great and unexpected pleasure. We've only gone out twice, and the first date was a bit better than the second... still, I think I'm in love (or at least in serious like), you know how it is. I've already let one of my other DE's go, with one or maybe two others to follow. Seems that your Ex, is my new steady. I'll be keeping a backup or two... hope she's not the jealous type, but I've always had a wandering eye. If there's a new pickup to be made, it'll probably be a 37C. (Hahaha, Lol), We'd be dating by now if not for you. I guess some things are just meant to be.
