After using my HD-G for 3 months I picked up a Mergress and love it, but it made me wonder, what setting are others using and with which blade. So far I have found using either a 7 o'clock or a Super Iridium I run it at 2.25, with a Derby I run it at 2.5, what combo do you guys use?

I find that the Progress is one of those razor that works with any blade.
I usually set mine at 3rd or 4th mark on one of my knobs, a little less with a Feather or a Bic a bit more with a Derby or IP.

I've used higher numbers in the past, but lately, I've gotten great shaves using Derby's at #2. Still a close shave, but absolutely no skin irritation.
I also use the 7 o'clock blades, and my settings are 3 for the WTG and ATG passes then I dial it down to 2 for the XTG pass. If I skip a day I'll use it on 4 for my first pass then 3 for the ATG and 2 for the XTG pass.

I found a setting of 2.0 to 2.5 worked very well. Sometimes going ATG I would dial it down to 1 with great results.
Derby or feather, 3-2-1 for wtg-xtg-atg, leave on 1 for touch up. Get BBS this way with no irritation. There are some older threads on this where I picked up this idea.
