I've grown accustomed to shaving pretty much every day for the last 13 years now. give or take a few lazy days, and a few beard growths here and there. since i started wet shaving with a de razor its been awesome. after i got the hang of things, no more razor burn, no more tugging, no more irritation. plus the quickness you go through products shaving every day leads to opportunities to try new products quite frequently. well i finally get a merkur 37g after wanting one for just over two years, and I've had it for maybe three months now, and its awesome. intact, its too awesome. i can now no longer shave every day. this beast gives my stubble suck a butt kicking it can't grow enough back to prevent me from shaving my face off the next day. I'm pretty sure i found the last razor ill purchase. which is awesome and sucks at the same time, because it works so well. the best shaves I've ever gotten, and this thing transforms blades i once hated into fantastic whisker slayers. i tried a 7 am. and a yellow 7 o'clock in my fatboy and i swore id never buy them again. one run through the slant and they're competing for position of new favorite blade. i simply cannot say enough good things about this razor. its perfect. the weight, balance, aggression, everything. merkur needs not make another razor. and yet, this razor i so love, is taking away from me the very reason i love it so, the shave. and now i am sad, because my face will not be this awesomely smooth for another two days. i suppose ill have to half-*** my shaves now, but ill still be sad. oh woes me.

The slant is very effective.
I have a Merkur Slant 37G I used for the first time 3 weeks ago. I love it too! I can get BBS shaves with other razors, but none lasts as long as the 37G. I still feel BBS 8-10 hours later. I still haven't mastered it completely though. I still get some irritation on my lower neck, which is my normal trouble spot. My beard grows back fast enough that I still need a shave the next day though.
From what I've heard, the R41 may be about the only other razor capable of shaving closer than the slant. I bought one a while ago, but have yet to try it to compare with the slant. I may have to put it on deck next.

Don't stop with the 37c; try the 39c. I did and I like them equally. It's rather fun to change the weight and length of the handle.
They are great razors, and shave vet well.
I have vintage Gillettes that are much more beautiful, but I get the best shaves from my 37G. And I like gold WAY BETTER than chrome. I also get good results with 7 o'clock yellows.

I went from 3 days of heavy growth to BBS in 2 passes (plus a bit of touching up) this morning with my 37C loaded with a Personna Med. I'm still amazed at how smooth the shave was. It was almost as if the hair was melting off my face.

i and thats what i want every day, but no. i guess ill just have to enjoy it while it lasts. but this is going to make for a hard time trying new products by using the current up first :-(.
