Merkur 1904 and Slant.

I have been looking to get a new razor and had narrowed it down to two choices, the Merkur 1904 oc or the 37c. In the end I couldn't make up my mind so I went with both!! I ordered them from Phil at Bullgoose. As expected Phil had them shipped out quickly and I received them in two days.

Yesterday morning I got up showered and decided to shave with the 1904. I threw in one of the Astra SP blades Phil included and I had the smoothest shave I have had since starting to shave with a DE. I did not expect this because I have use Astras in my other razors and never was a real fan, but they were great in this. I will be trying the slant tomorrow morning with the same astra so i will report back on how that goes.

Congrats! Those are both nice shavers. I have been on a 39c slant kick recently. You are in for a treat when you load the 37c. Enjoy both and use them in good health!!

I have the 39C and the 1904 as well. The 1904 is too mild for me, but I love the look of this razor.

I enjoy using either of those razors (my 1904 is a Muhle R101 which has the same head as the 1904).

I just finished shaving with the slant for the first time. I have to say this is definitely going to be my go to razor when i have more than a day or two of growth. It gave me a very smooth shave. It definitely shaved my tough neck hairs the best. I used the astra that i used in the 1904 so it was the second shave with it. I think I will have to try a different blade in it next time. The astra blades don't seem to be as smooth as some others for me.

Overall I am very pleased with my purchases from Phil at Bullgoose.
