Just got these for myself over Christmas. I needed a good set of knives and I hate the wooden blocks they store in. This was a great find on AMAZON for $120-ish

I've gotten the Chef knives for family members and they like them. I have used one in kitchens as well. The chef knife will eventually need thinned but not for a long while with just home use. It is softer steel compared to some other lines but you will be able to sharpen them more often

I have 2 of those knives actually- the 8" chef and the paring knife. I'd put them up against any others out there- they're certainly on par with the Wusthof Classic knives that my wife has.
