The skull is an african fetich skull carved in stone, from about 1850
The bible is from 1790
The book of psalms is from 1742
The knife is supposedly a french apache knife from around 1900 (the apaches were parisian gangsters, named apaches bacause of their savage behavior - and known for their fondness for wicked, yet finely crafted, knives and the famours knuckle duster revolver) with a silver and ebony handle. Kind of creepy that you have a skull laying around but very gothic in its own essence.

For me it is not a skull shaped piece of decor, it is a highly interesting etnographic artefact.

But in the context of this image it becomes very gothic indeed.
