matching tweeds...

Can anyone recommend an aftershave that would complement Green Irish Tweed?
I know there are a few soaps that are made to resemble the fragrance. Can't seem to find an aftershave (other then unscented and witch hazel)

what are you thoughts lads?

"Cool Water" is well known as a cheap alternative to GIT (although not as good ... but for a/s it probably doesn't matter.) See if they make a splash.

You can get some of Mama Bear's summer aftershave milk with her GIT-like scent added.

T&H freshman or clubman might work ...

If Cool Water is similar, then perhaps Aqua Velva Ice Sport might work? And if it doesn't, you aren't out much money.

Must admit, I've always associated the smell of tweed with a sort of ammonia/uriney smell, but maybe that's just when the guys get wet on the range?

... I checked Basenotes ... it's Freshman I was thinking of: the 1815 (but since reformulated) cologne that sort of originated the "oceanic" scents that GIT and Cool Water are examples of.

GIT doesn't smell at all like "tweed" in the sense of looking for something that smells like a woven woolen sport jacket or overcoat. To my mind, the name makes no sense at all ... maybe Carey Grant liked to wear the cologne with a green irish tweed suit??

Thanks, I wondered why anyone would want to smell of tweed....... you're right what a bizarre name, never encountered it before :D Shall have to try to find some to smell :D

The smell of a pub full of wet people in tweed is a pungent one :D

I think they were going for famous irish tweed mills. casual sporting activates associated with tweeds; like coursing etc...

I think so, after a day on the traps yesterday, I'd love one that smells of a warm shotgun after 100 cartridges :D Hmmm, a niche market I think.... :D
