ive recently finished my workshop and have decided to give making my own 3 piece style safety razor, i have what id consider to be sufficient tooling (metal lathe, mill, drill press, tap and die sets etc) and was wondering if anyone had any experience with diy razors, or any suggestions on materials or even designs? any advice appreciated, ill put up photos of my progress and the razor should i get around to making it.

Brass would be the easiest and cheapest to work with.
Stainless would be awesome.
Titanium would be the ultimate(and likely near impossible for a DIY'er

i was thinking id go with stainless, ive worked with brass alot and its just a bit soft for my likeing and titanium would be great but id definately want to experiment with stainless at most, but if all goes well i might give titanium a go. still looking for the "perfect" design though, or atleast a few hints.
