Making a/s lotion

So, there are sents that I really like such as Green Irish Tweed that are avalible as an aftershave product but are only avalible in a cream style balm. I am not a balm type of guy. I mean I have used them in the past and they do just fine and smell as they are supposed to, but I really enjoy a splash/lotion a lot better. As colonge is much more concentrated than an a/s, has anyone any experience with cutting cologne down and makeing it into and aftershave?
