BTW if you go to Nordstrom make sure you go to women's section. They have more Bonds, have Diptique and other lines you wouldn't even know they carry if you just went to the men's section.
I have been wanting to try the Pure Havane; glad to hear you like it!
I was in the Nordstrom's in Santa Monica a couple of weeks ago, and was in the women's section with my wife. About the only men's stuff they had was SpiceBomb and some Hérmes...I think the stock (as with Macy's) depends on the location of the store. Unfortunately, I saw no Bond's or Diptyque there...but I will check next time we go back. (The men's fragrance section was 2 floors up and I couldn't finagle SWMBO up there.)
There is a Bloomingdale's nearby, and I have not checked their fragrance section. I would expect it to be pretty good, though.
Well this was the Nordstroms on Michigan Avenue in Chicago may be the best of the best for them. The store in St Louis I went to last year didn't have the same inventory as I recall. At the one today hey had these Boss scents that they said was only in 3 other stores so some sort of private blend.
As for Pure Havane I can see wet shavers liking this one. Its a noce cherry tobacco that does share some DNA with Amen but much much better IMO. Looks like PH is part of Nordstrom regular inventory as opposed to limited edition like Pure Malt. Should not be hard to find. One more thing my wife actually liked it a lot which was a surprise.
It depends on the region. In my area, Orlando, Sak Fifth Avenue is the exclusive Bond No. 9 retailer, whereas Neiman Marcus is the exclusive Creed retailer. Nordstrom around here gets nothing particularly interesting.
In Chicago, Saks had Kilian and Bond, Neiman had Tom Ford / MFK / Creed, Barney's had Lutens. Nordstrom doesn't have full line of much at all buy a little of everyone. For example they had Bond but only the "I Love" line (him, her, marriage equality, father, Etc).
I've only tried the EDT Volutes, and it was nice, but I wanted it to be a bit heavier on the tobacco and lighter on the iris.
I've heard conflicting reports as to whether the EDP is heavier on the tobacco or not, but I'm keen to try it.
Tam Dao & L'Ombre dans L'Eau remain my favourites from them, but their whole range makes Diptyque a solid and relatively inexpensive niche house that deserves more regard.
Pure Havane is a scrubber along with everything else that comes from the TM house (Cologne being an exception). I haven't tried Volutes, but Diptique in general leaves me wanting. I've tried several of their scents and nothing has grabbed me. I'll sniff this one out in hopes to change my mind.
This volutes is something else. I am wowed by like and that hasn't happened in a while. Iris tobacco maybe leather vanilla. Yeah this is the real deal. I like the iris the type that's in Dior Homme and this has that. Has a nice smokiness that isn't overpowering either.
