Mac Baren Old Dark Fired?

Okay, I see it popping up in stock here and there. Before I buy a tin (and the requisite $80 in additional purchases - I am a sucker for free shipping), I'd like to get an opinion or two from you fine gentlemen. And you too, Jason.:biggrin1:

I am all ears too. Last time they sold out quickly, but I am unsure if it was just because of low stock. TBO I never met a VA containing blend I didn't like.

The MacBaren's guys were displaying their product in our booth at IPCPR, and I got to try this tobacco. It's very dark and rich, I liken it to Peterson's Irish Flake, only a tad sweeter and with more moisture. I had to rub the flakes out and let them dry for 30 min or so before smoking. It was strong too, but not 1792 strong. I didn't get any fruity notes, but like I said there was sweetness too it, I'm assuming it was the virginias. All in all, a good smoke if you dry it out before smoking.

On a side note, I got to LOAD up on MacBaren's tobaccos and thus far I'm loving their Dark Twist and Vanilla Cream, which is weird because I don't normally like aromatics. Live and learn.
