Lubricating the Gillette Slim

Does anyone know how to lubricate a Gillette Slim? I have one that really needs the head lubricated with silicone grease, or something else, but I don't know how to get into the mechanism. What should I use and how should I do it?

I use mineral oil. We have it here in grocery stores and drug stores, where rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide are.

Do the doors open and close? I put a few drops in the base of the handle, open and close the doors a few dozen times, then a drop or two down the tube inside the bay doors. If the twistie part is stiff, put some drops where the clickie spring is.

Of course this is after soaking in hot water and dish soap a few times.

The great part about mineral oil is it does not have a smell like machine (3-in-1) oil does, and since it's food grade, it is OK for your skin.

Having dissassembled countless of these things, lubrication isn't necessary. The reason they are still being used today is because they were engineered so brilliantly that lube isn't needed. Proper cleaning will correct any issues the razor may have. There is nothing lubrication can cure that cannot be cured other how

Thanks for that. In Australia I think we call mineral oil baby oil, so I'll try that. We also call drug stores chemists, not sure how these differences came about! Thanks for your help.

You are quite right. I tried washing in hot water and soap overnight and now it is working fine. Thanks for the advice.
