Low cost cologne similar to Clubman?

Do you mean cheaper than Clubman? That's a tall order.

Have you tried the rest of the Pinaud/Clubman ranges? Besides Clubman, there's Bay Rum, Special Reserve, Vanilla, Musk, Citrus Musk, Lime Sec, and (of course) Lilac Vegetal. Add to that Eau de Portugal an Eau de Quinine and you've got a lot to work with.

Canoe is somewhat similar; Penhaligon's Racquets a pricey, yet brilliant alternative.

As far as low cost is concerned, errmm...how about Clubman?

Im guessing the OP wants a cologne rather than an aftershave that the Pinaud is marketed as. OP - what you are looking for is Canoe by Dana. Its pretty cheap and smells strikingly similar to clubman.

I can't get that Clubman stink off of me if I tried (lol...I mean, of COURSE I do, daily, but...). It's by far the longest lasting scent I have in an aftershave (except MAYBE Brut)...adding a similar scented cologne on top of that sounds like a nuclear option...

Clubman lasts pretty much all 24 hours in a day on me - it doesn't get any cheaper or longer lasting than that, AS or cologne!

Except that many Pinaud products occupy that middle ground between aftershaves and colognes. Basic Clubman might be billed as an after shave lotion and some of the other ranges as after shave colognes. Some, like Citrus Musk and Lime Sec are sold as Eau de Colognes too. But that doesn't (at least to me) seem to be an indicator of the actual strength of their fragrance. The scent of Clubman is so distinct and long lasting that I couldn't imagine layering it with anything else. I think that's true for the most part for all of their fragrances, with the exception of Eau de Portugal and maybe Eau de Quinine. Of course, they are supposed to be hair tonics, but I think that lots of people use them as aftershaves too. So it isn't as simple as just looking at the label to see whether they belong in a discussion of colognes or aftershaves.

I used Clubman this morning and followed with Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur. These go well together. Might be something to consider.

+1 Nid Hog.

Clubman lasts all day on me, and is the only AS I 'cut' with some witch hazel to back the scent off a bit.

The Veg also goes all day on my chest. Its base holds together very well over the hours.

Thanks everybody! Yes, the cologne is what I had in mind. Sorry for the lack of clarity in the original post, but I really enjoy all of the responses!

Just use Clubman. It lasts longer than most colognes. It's a cologne labeled aftershave. Marketed names don't matter as much as what the product does.
