Looking for a new brush similar to Tweezerman...

I love the size/shape of the Tweezerman brush head but the handle isn't tall enough for me. I use a mug to mix my lather and it's too deep for this brush.

Can anyone recommend a brush with a similar head to the Tweezerman but with a longer handle.

I like the fact that the Tweezerman's bristles are not so long that they "flop" over. But rather stand up straight even soaked with water.

I use the Escali it is supposedly the same knot as the Tweezerman and is a decent cheap brush. The handle is long enough for me to use in a coffee mug but I have never had the Tweezerman so I can not compare the two.

I had an Escali that I PIFed earlier this week. It is a decent starter brush but why not try something a little different? You could get a Semogue boar for just a few dollars more or a better quality Franks Shaving badger brush for about $25ish shipped. You won't miss your tweezerman brush after a few days with the new brush.

Yup, its a Burma Shave mug I picked up when I started shaving with a brush in '99. Until last month I have used my hand to make a lather but with my newfound DE skills I've decided to pull it out of storage. Just need to find a longer handle but same short head as the Tweezerman. Plus, yesterday the Tweezerman head came ungluded again!

Semogue has some lovely boar brushes, like the 1305, which when broken in will be nice and soft on the tips, but do a bang-up job on soaps. Semogue also makes some affordable badger brushes. Or try an Omega 10066 or 11137, both of which have taller urn-shaped handles. I have the 10066 and it's terrific.

That said, as suggested above, another solution is to get a shallower mug. A late model Old Spice mug would be ideal. I have a few of them, and even when the soap wears down, it's still easy for my small-ish brush to handle. Post a Want To Buy message on the Buy/Sell/Trade forum.

You may also want to check out the Simpson's Colonel. Tall urn shape, reasonably small knot.

Thanks for all the helpful replies. Thanks to this site I learned of the existence of a store near me here in Houston that sells all things British. Appropriately titled "The British Isles," they sell a wide variety of shaving products including brushes. Today I brought my Tweezerman in and selected this Crowley & Tosh. It it has a taller handle and is similarly tightly packed like the Tweezerman. Going to give it a whirl tomorrow morning.

Tried the Crowley & Tosh this afternoon. Man this brush sure whips up a lather!
