Looking for a new brush - need backbone but soft tips

I have been wet shaving about a year and have been using a parker silvertip badger brush shown here:
http://www.amazon.com/Parker-Safety-Razor-Silvertip-Bristle/dp/B002UB3BF8

Though I have gotten used to it, I have become increasingly annoyed with how it performs. Specifically, the brush becomes almost paintbrush like when fully wet. This allows me to paint lather on, but I feel I don't actually get it into my whiskers.

I am looking for a replacement brush and would prefer not to have anything any larger (I am ok with smaller). I have very sensitive skin so need the brush to be as soft as possible, but want to avoid this "paintbrush flop". Does anyone have any suggestions I might be able to explore? I greatly appreciate the help.

Right now I am looking at the Rooney 1/1, T&H style 1 small. My only concern is if it will be too irritating. Is the brush soft despite the density?

If you can be patient with the brush during break in, a high quality boar will have soft tips and plenty of back hone. They are also relatively cheap so try out.

New Forest 2204 Super Badger Two Band. This brush has a bulb shape loft, so it has a very good back bone and the tips are silk soft. The knot is 22 mm, with a loft of 50 mm and a handle height of 50 mm. I have it in my rotation for the last 9 months and i really enjoy it! Great value for the price, free shipping.

I think maybe put a WTB out for a broken in boar. I love my boar brushes but some can really take their time breaking in!

Depending on your budget a M&F brush can really do the trick.
I had a silver tip for the longest time and i've recently bought a M&F brush and i couldn't be happier!

I really like my B&B Essential boar from West Coast Shaving. Given the price, it's hard to go wrong with it.

I recommend a Semogue 830. Lather a bunch of times on your palm to break in. The tips will soften up and you'll still have lots of backbone.

I would check out the Vintage Blades 2-band, lots of backbone with gel tips. Or a high end boar like the SOC, 830, 1350, etc.
