What's new

Looking for a good performing triple milled tallow hard soap with a strong scent.

Is there a triple milled tallow hard soap that has a strong scent? I am looking for a triple milled soap that smells like classic Old Spice or perhaps baby powder. I am using Macca Root shave cream, Ingram Menthol and Lanolin Shave Cream (which I picked up four tubes for $2.50 a tube shipped) and Valobra Crema di Sapone Menthol. I really like all of these with Valobra probably being my favorite. The Macca Root scent really does nothing for me but I do like the soapy smells of the other two. Since I am new to wet shaving I feel I missed out on classic Old Spice that my father used to use when I was growing up. I am patiently awaiting the Valobra hard soap but I have no idea when it will be out. I am set for razors and brushes so I am looking for The One Soap.

Besides the D.R. Harris, you might consider Pre de Provence. It is hard, white and has a pronounced clean aroma. Not sure about the triple-milled part, but, as I said, it is hard. Similarly you might consider Klar Seifen Sport or Klassic. Same features.

I'm just finishing up 3017ing my puck (140g when I started) and can highly recommend it. One of the best performing and easiest lathering soaps out there. It's not as easy as MdC, but pretty close. I'm a heavy loader and use about 1.5g/shave of this stuff, so it's a good buy in the end in terms of cost per shave.

Thick and slick lather, I find it moisturizing. The scent to me is clean and fresh, but not overpowering or strong. Maybe not strong enough for the OP, but I leave mine uncovered.

D.R. Harris might suit you. My favorite of their scents is Arlington.

I have to disagree with DR Harris, they're amazing triple milled soaps, no doubt. However, I feel their scents while nice, are fairly mild...at least the two that I own are. (Arlington & Lavender)

triple milled....tallow....hard soap.... strong scent....TABAC!

I'll add another vote for Tabac. It's an amazing soap and the scent is probably the strongest on the block...however, some people hate the scent.
If you must have a Old Spice type soap your best bet is to try an artisan soap maker like Honey Bee or Mama Bear.
They're not triple milled tallow, but they do make faux Old Spice scented soaps and are very strong. (especially Mama Bears)

Tabac is great. DR Harris is also good and gives you scent variety.

Speick is also very good, but the shave stick will have to be grated into a puck
