Longlasting AS ?

Another relative newbie here :)

I would prefer my aftershave to have a long lasting scent rather than use a cologne in addition to AS.

Any suggestions ?

I have a bottle of Speick on order.

Thanks for the info.

I find Spieck a lovely but mild scent and short lasting alas. Of the AS's I've tried, German Pitralon, Sir Irisch Moos, Tabac, Hattric all lasted well into the day, Musgo Real as well.

Just this morning I put on Speick and by the time I finished ironing my shirt I was wondering if I'd forgotten the AS!

I find that sometimes an ASL or ASB is longer lasting than a splash. Blenheim Bouquet ASL for example wears very well/long on me. I can smell it 13-15 hours after application and it is always subtle and appealing.

Regular Aqua Velva lasts about the time it takes me to walk out of the bathroom after shaving. However, Aqua Velva "Musk" AS will last all day and into the night for me. Plus, it's dirt cheap (less than $4) at Wal-Mart.

+1. The Penhaligon's ASBs have real staying power. My experience with Blenheim ASB is similar to Rob's, and I have found the same with Endymion and Opus 1870 ASB samples that I have.

Of all I've owned, Musgo Real, Alt Innsbruck, Tabac, and Floris Santal have the most staying power. L'Occitane Cade splash is fairly lasting as well, although not as much as the others (I wish it was though).

+1 for Musgo Real. I sometimes use my Ogallala Bay Rum double strength cologne added to the Bay rum Limes and Peppercorns A/S splash. It seems to to last through the day also.

Tabac is great, lasts all day, and at $25 for 10 oz the price is good also. If you like a spice fragrance that is not overpowering this is it.

Most aftershaves are not meant to last a long time. Some do, yes. But, the question I have is, why not just use cologne? That's meant to last longer.

Ogallala Special Reserve has a beautiful lasting scent in a cologne. The Aftershave is just as nice but lasts a few hours. I'd try the Sandalwood, but I would not expect a 10 in healing the skin or moisturizing. Good sting, firm toned skin, and a good whiff

Pinaud bay rum is not too bad but Tabac and Irisch Moos have definitely more staying power.

But Pashana 'outstays' them all with half the splash....:thumbup1:

Re Regular Aqua Velva, it may burn out your sense of smell in the time it takes to walk out of the bathroom, but everyone else will smell it ALL day. Also, the guy who mentioned you'll be smelling Pinaud Clubman the next day when you shower was spot on.

I have to cut both of these with an un/low-scented balm or I'm nauseated and embarrassed by the end of the day. I love the scent of these two, but they're strong, distinctive and wear out their welcome after awhile.

If the OP wants long-lasting scents, these fit the bill, though.
