L'Occitane, staff, and the Cade-Cream question...

I was just wondering approximately when was the Cade cream of L'Occitane reformulated?

I've asked a couple of staff members, one in a L'Occitane shop itself, and one in a department store who managed the Occitane stock, and neither knew about the Cade cream and the supposed reformulation of it.

I was wondering if anyone else has had any experience of questioning staff in-store?

Do we know for sure it has been reformulated?
I've seen a lot of "hmm, it works better than I remember it did" posts, but has anyone done a head-to-head comparison?

Nick is correct, they did show a New Formula picture when it was first released. Now it says it above the description.

I can't do a comparison since I threw out the last version as it was totally worthless. IMO, the new one is just OK so I've relegated it to super-lather duty with the Cade soap, which I like very much. Together, they make a lovely lather.

It has definitely been reformulated. They had a note about it on the website maybe 3 months or so ago.

That's what I thought, from what I had read in a number of threads, but when I asked them and I told them it was about 3-6 months ago, they said they had not heard anything, and had no idea. (Though I can forgive the one in the dept. store, since they're only taking care of the area, in the employ of the shop).

That's the truth! That's a lot of dough for 5.2oz, especially when the same dough will get you the Cade soap *with* the bowl.

Well, not here... Cream: £15, soap & bowl: £30(!!), although the bowl should last till the end of time...:001_smile, but £10 for a refill soap.

The thing I was disappointed at, was the fact they don't do samples (small tube would be ideal, or a small pot filled in-store as the body shop do)

The bowl alone is $28 here. It does not include the soap

Most of the stores I've been to will give you a sample if you bring your own small container. They just don't have any on hand to give out samples

I haven't used the cream, but I highly doubt you're missing out by using the soap. It just might be my favorite one. In fact, I'm starting to realize that I really love a good veggie based soap.
I'm still waiting to find out of I will be getting Klar Kabinett, or not.

Yep, in the shops here (as opposed to online), the bowl is separate to the soap too, just under £20 bowl, just under £10 for the soap. But it ends up the same price, which, online on their UK site the soap & bowl can be purchased as a single item (in fact, if you want the bowl, you have to buy the soap too, but they do sell just a soap refill, separately. Don't ask me!).

Maybe I'll bring an old Proraso bowl for them to fill up with cream as a sample...What do you reckon?

Any other super lather recommendations for Cade cream or soap?

The L'Occitane store by me @ Oakbrook is on point.

The store had a sign in front of the Cade cream that said NOW REFORMULATED!

I was in there today to try some of the AS balms. They have travel size ones which they were paired for Cade and L'Occitan. I bought both, and made a comment about how I really want to give Bavx a run. No joke, the sales associate left the store and literally RAN next door to get some small jars. She filled 2 with Bavx which was at least $8 worth of product and wrote the product name artistically on the cap. She was also knowledgeable about the product line, very attractive, and had a warm personality.

I can't complain...

I have been to that particular store many times; they are all good at that store. She's my favorite though. That level of service isn't found at many places.
