List your favorite lavenders

My current list:

1 Gris Clair
2 Taste of Heaven
3 Jicky

I have never tried Caron Pour Un Homme or the Creed Scottish Lavender. The L'Occitan Lavender is a turnoff for me because I don't like the pepper in there.

I'm told the Oxford & Cambridge Lavender is good and want to try that. How is longevity on this?
There is also a Gendarme that has a good amount of lavender, and when I tested it I liked it quite a bit. I can't remember if it was Gendarme V or Gendarme 20 or Gendarme EDP...I just know it wasn't the regular Gendarme EDT.

I just received Gendarme EDP and Gendarme 20; it's 20 you're thinking of. Very crisp, very sharp lavender note that lasts a while. Surgically clean as it's described on another site and I think that's a good description. Some fans of lavender may not even like it due to it's sterility. I wore it today and really enjoyed it. Just like the regular Gendarme, it's a very work-friendly "safe" scent that's not likely to offend anyone. I'm sure I'll buy more when my 2oz canister is gone.

Those three are excellent. Glad to see you enjoy Gris Clair. It's an acquired taste for sure.

My favorites are Encens et Lavand and Fourreau Noir by Serge Lutens. Both from the Exlcusive collection. Available only in Paris or Barney's NY.

I don't think you would like CPuH or the Creed. Very "dated" if you will. But then again, you came out of no where liking Jicky and Derby, so who knows. You tend to amaze us sometimes. I also don't like the L'Occitane Lavender and agree that the pepper doesn't really work with lavender. Personally, I think you have tried most of the best. I do recommend you give O&C a try. It's a great lavender with a dash of mint and easily my favorite from that house.

My favorites would be:

1. ATOH
2. Gris Clair
3. O&C
4. Creed RSL

I of course also have an unhealthy affinity for Azzaro PH which while by no means is considered a "lavender", it does have a somewhat healthy dose.

If anyone tried both, how does Encens et Lavande compare to Frankincense and Myrrh?

Not sure about the comparison as I don't have much experience with F&M. My favourite lavenders would be:

Caron Pour Un Homme
By Kilian A Taste Of Heaven
Guerlain Jicky
Encens et Lavende

i have.
EeL starts out very lavender based then becomes dark with incense.almost abruptly. with a tender bed of lavender on the bottom throughout.

F&M obviously has no lavender and is predominantly myrrh.

This would be my list, minus Jicky. I couldn't hang with that one at all. It's like a powder bomb to me. Only recently did I discover Caron Pour Un Homme, and I really really dig that one.

F&M has some lavender. It's stated in F&M basenotes but I get (some) lavender just after the beginning. It's a very creamy and subtle lavender. The one you sometimes get when you mix it with the right spices. The whole scent is cozy and that's why I wondered about EeL. Thanks for the description. I must admit I'd like to try some.

I had a retail sample. If I find it I'll give it a try and post here again.

I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one. I can't wrap my head around the powder bomb/dirty baby diaper accord. Just doesn't work for me.

I like the O&C a lot but it lasts maybe an hour on me.

I sniffed the E&C Lavender this weekend and wasn't that impressed. Much prefer the Gris Clair. And maybe the reason I like Gris Clair so much is the lavender + my sweet tooth.

BTW I like Gris Clair a lot better than ATOH right now.
