I'm in the sample stage right now, but figure at some point I need to get down to a reasonable number of soaps. No expense spared of these 9 what would you take out and replace with another offering?

Pre de Province (for the Shea Butter)
DR Harris Arlington

Santa Maria Novella
Trumpers Sandalwood
Tabac or Irisch Moos (apparantly the same w/ different scent)
Penhaligon's English Fern
P160 or RazoRock

I'd replace the Arlington with Marlborough
I'd toss the RR P160 and take C&S Oxford & Cambridge
loose the Trumpers and take C&E Sienna, or Nomad or Mysore Sandlewood
rest is good.

Just my opinion and experiences, but here are some alternatives to what you already have

Here's my take so far:
MWF --haslinger shafmilch-I personally prefer it to MWF, something to consider.
Pre de Province (for the Shea Butter)-->Try Mike's Natural soaps or Shannon's for shea/kokum butter alternatives.

Interesting sometimes when these zombies threads arise and you can see how the lists have evolved recently. Some of the old forumulas, e.g. AOS Tallow and GFT, were just amazing but the reformulations may not be so great. I guess my list would be (in no particular order):

I tried this exercise some time ago and after continuing to acquire additional soaps and creams I gave up. I am up to 37 soaps and trying like a madman to 3017 my first tub of TOBS cream. I have visions of getting my soaps and creams down to about 5 or 6, the best of the best, the cream of the cream, but that is a long way away. And those 5 or six will be difficult to select. The OP has selected some very nice soaps and creams. If I could pick 9...I can see myself with Pre de Provence, Cella, Proraso (white or green), Nivea Original, Saponificio Varesino, Haslinger Schafmilch, MWF, Valobra, MdC.
