LIJUN SHAVING Brushes

These are on ebay and they come from China. They are badger and less than $20. Are they any good? I know that a lot of fellas like the Frank Shaving brushes, which are also an inexpensive Chinese brush.

I wrote something about the one I have in this thread:

They are good value brushes. I think the prices went up about 6 months ago but nevertheless still good value. I have 2 (finest badger and silvertip) in 24mm knots and no scritch in either. They hog the lather though. However excellent bang for the buck.

I have a finest (~22mm knot x 55mm loft) and it is an excellent brush for the money. The knot has some of the softest tips of any of my brushes and it has plenty of backbone for face lathering or bowl lathering if that's your thing. Some of my critiques would be that the epoxy shows through a little bit at the base of the knot, the handle does not match the quality shape or feel of some of my much more expensive favorites, the knot would be more suited to my face lathering preferences if it were sunk in another 10mm or so, however there is a glue bump in the knot that makes this brush act as though it were set at a lower loft it just blooms out larger than it would set deeper. The density is on the light side, but this allows for great flow through and because of the strong backbone isn't really something I consider a negative point.

Happy with mine. Feels like a quality brush in hand, and lathers like one too. The handle is very nice i must say, solid, heavy. Cost the same as a 1305, delivered.

I've had two of em and the knots are wonderful. The handles left a bit to be desired as far as weight goes, but for the price, they're wonderful. I guess I need to get another one with a heavier handle.

I have one with a very large silvertip bulb, and it's a nice soft face lathering brush. Good value for money

I bought one a while ago out of curiosity. Not disappointed but not overly impressed. For the money they are a decent badger brush.

Mine is a 24mm silver tip knot set at 56mm loft. Even though 56mm seems a tall loft the bristles are stiff enough where it makes a very descend face lathering brush.

Here's mine closed and in bloom

I have a 22mm Lijun finest bader brush. It cost me about $25 shipped to Canada. The brush is fairly well made, has a good handle and I'm quite pleased. The brush is a bit of a lather hog, but it works very well for hard soaps and for Proraso cream. I'm quite pleased with the purchase as it was not expensive, plus it came with a nice stand to dry the brush with. I've not tried a high end Simpson or Kent, but then again, I don't think that I need to. The Lijun gets the job done and the price is right. If you find that it's not for you, you could always re-coup part of your costs on the BST.

i've got an identical chinese brush that has been a real trooper for me. i've had it over 5 years now and it always builds a nice lather and feels good on the face.

I recently purchased a Lijun Finest badger 26 mm knot and I believe it has a 57 mm loft. I don't have a lot of experience with brushes but this one is head and shoulders above my tweezerman. Good backbone and super soft.It isn't even broken in yet. Lost maybe two hairs first day, but nothing after. I am quite happy with it especially the price. (Ps definetly a lather hog. Not sure if that will ever change though)

Good morning folks,i d' like to ask you some things about those badgers
How much time did you soak the knot in hot water before lathering ?
Some seconds,1 minute or more ?
I am interesting to buy some Lijun badgers but i wondering if their backbone is good or after a while the create that gap in the centre like a grenade has thrown on them
Your answers will help me a lot.

Well I let mine soak while I am in the shower so it is in there more than 1 minute. It absorbs quite a bit of water. Mine I believe is broken in for the most part and has plenty of backbone. I think it all depends on the knot size you get and loft as well as the grade. Mine does well for face latering or bowl. Soap or creams.
