Ok, let me start out by admitting I'm an idiot. I left for Mexico on Monday on a business trip in stead of hassling with my rollaway bag on the plane with the over crowded storage bins I decided to check my bag (I've done this a ton of times). All of my shaving gear was in the bag. A late '40s SS and an ever ready brush that has been reknotted. Well you can guess what happened. I arrived in the middle of nowhere Mexico and the bag did not!!! All I could do at 10'oclock at night was to file a report with the nice lady at the airport and hope the bag shows up on the next flight.
The hotel was very nice and gave me some shave cream in a pack and a disposable that was designed for inmates. Needless to say, the shave the next morning was awful to say the least. It felt like each hair was just being pulled out one by one. More importantly, I was heart broken and mad at myself. I called the airport the next day and the bag was not on the flight and the only word frome the airline was they hoped it would be on the next flight. All I could think was that I will never be able to replace the SS and brush.
Well there is some good news here. Apparently the bag was on the last flight last night and now I wait for it to be delivered to the hotel. Lesson learned, I will never agin fly with something I can't replace or carry it on board. Hopefully the bag does show up tonight. I have forgotten how bad the canned goo and the cheap disposable from Wally world is.
Update: my bag arrived last night at 6:00 with everything intact. The bag was really chewed up. It looks like this will be her last trip. It was sure great to have a fantastic shave this morning.
