Leresche

$IMG_0215.jpg I spotted this wide mouth online recently, and was instantly drawn to it. Long story short, it arrived yesterday and being an evening shaver gave it a whirl in short order. I popped in an Astra and did a 3 pass wtg, xtg, xtg and was left with a dfs save for a couple trouble spots, Initially I was expecting a super aggressive shave, but instead found it to be very smooth. It is a bit tricky at first but with a few more shaves, I'm going to love it. In the future i may have to sell a couple under-used razors and get it replated.

Awesome looking! I'd love to see what that looks like with the doors open. One of the strangest TTO's I've seen.

Sorry, I meant to add another couple pics. It's a 4 piece, with the blade being held in by that thin piece at the top. And another one next to the Fatboy and Wee Scot.$IMG_0216.jpg$IMG_0217.jpg

It's a Leresche model 77 - a mild shaver, very rare, and one of my favorites. I did a write-up on it last year:

(look down in the second half of the post)

I do believe that it is meant to be a three-piece razor, but the very top part has a tendency to detach, which is not really a problem. The handle should be silver-plated.

That is the holy grail of Leresche razors! I found one of their smaller and less unique razors that appeared to be an old type knockoff for 10$ at an antique store and I would be extremely happy to find another Leresche, never mind that one!

Nice find!

Moshulu, thanks for sending the link to that very informative post. Great write up, and quite an impressive collection. Looks like I will have some other unusual razors to look for. RX, it is as wide as it looks and is actually quite tame with the safety bar positioned to find the correct angle more easily.

Brett, try B&B vendors to replate, they can be trusted
