Layrite #9 Bay Rum

Has anyone tried this? It is fantastic! Awesome scent... One of only a couple bay rums available in a bricks and mortar store in Australia. To those who have tried it how does it rate and what does it compare to?

OK, tried it today with a proper shave in the morning. Pretty much like Masters, but a bit more clove in there, I think. As for longevity, it seems that the clove keeps this scent alive a little bit longer compared to Masters. But the latter provides more bang for the buck in my view.

Of course, longevity and things like that are different for different skins and almost depend on the direction the wind is blowing etc.

Maybe a Wiki page for bay rums should be in order? There are probably around 124 000 different threads and mentions about bay rums here and there.

First time poster, but just wanted to let you guys know... Layrite and Suavecito smelling the same is not a coincidence. Suavecito is owned and formulated by a former employee of Layrite.

I think Layrite has been around long enough for patents and copyrights to expire. I do like it, though. Seems more substantial than Masters, for sure. Heavier on the face. Nice scent, lasts reasonably well. Old school bay rum, yeah. I got a bottle at home. I'm at work now and rotating Clubman, VIBR, Clubman Special Reserve, Floid Vigoroso, Lucky Tiger, Indian Old Spice, and Pinaud Lime Sec. Have to leave a lot of favorites at home, and LayRite #9 was one of them this time.

Good to hear! I don't know why it is called "Layrite" now because that's the pomade that "Hawleywoods" make.. That's what it was called before. "Hawleywoods no 9"

I LOVE my Layrite aftershave. I've actually been using it even before I started DE shaving. I would splash it on after a Mach 3 and Barbasol shave.

And the women love it too. ;)

I've tried other bay rums, and Layrite is by far my favorite.
