Lather Shaving Soap as a daily facial cleanse?

I was breaking-in my new boar brush by lathering my face several times, and it came to me, Lather as a way to clean my face?? while its probably not the most original question ever, is this a good idea? I would be using Williams Mug since I have a bunch I don't use laying around. It seems to dry my face out a bit, but I feel clean and I have oily skin so I guess that would be good thing?

I do it every night before bed using Arko or Derby sticks and a synthetic. Helps with getting the hairs separated from the skin and washes away the days dirt.
