LAMY AL-Star keeps skipping

Hi Gents: Hope all is well with you & your families. My FP-OTD was my matte black LAMY Al-Star fine nib with Noodlers Baystate Blue. It never skipped before but now each time I write it skips consistently. I checked the convertor and it is 75% full.

I already flushed out all of the BSB in my M200 to prevent it from staining but love the BSB in my LAMY-Al Star. So. . . kindly help me so I can enjoy my LAMY, again. I hope it is not the BSB.

Flush it until it's clean, try another ink as a test. Have you tried bottled Lamy blue? It's a nice bright blue (doesn't pop like BSB) and is very well-behaved.

Back in 2006(?) there were some pretty controversial threads on a big fountain pen forum over the fact that Lamy feeds don't play nicely with Baystate inks.

Ditto.

Never had a lick of problems with Lamy inks, but nothing but problems with the "No Feather" that I tried.

You might have to tweak that nib out after you flush it too. My Lamy needed it some to get rid of the skipping. Good news is that it's fixable. There's lots of YouTubes about tweaking nibs if you want to see someone do it.

Sadly, I would also blame this on the BSB. I like BSB too, and have a .5 nib Preppy that I keep eyedropper filled with it all the time. If it ruins the Preppy, it is not that big of a deal.
