Enjoy!I ordered my Athena (bronze) from the waiting list a couple hours ago.
I have the SS Athena and the Bronze Ares. They both shave wonderfully. I believe the Ti version of either razor is a special order. I wouldn't wait for it if I were you. Get the Bronze of either, you won't regret it. The Bronze Athena is available now, I believe. Get it while you can. They are the best of the best!!I’m awaiting the release of the Ti version. I sold my Bronze Athena, regretfully, very, very regretfully. It shaved excellent and looked beautiful on the counter and while using. I’ve said already that I would buy a titanium one and hopefully it will shave as well as the original. But looking at the pictures of the three various metals, the stainless and titanium do not have the soul that the bronze one does, imho.
Speaking of, any brothers that have both SS and Bronze compare the shaves?
Sorry the shipping caused you so much trouble.I should probably say I’m sorry you sold it, but, that would be a lie.

less maintenance for me. I am very lazy. The bronze is very smooth on the face, but so is the SS for me.Does the SS add anything above and over the bronze? I'm guessing there is a reduction in weight however does this have an impact on the experience?
Point taken. I would like to keep the bronze on a stand however it's still the honeymoon period and I do like to dry and keep safe in it's house.less maintenance for me. I am very lazy. The bronze is very smooth on the face, but so is the SS for me.
FWIW, I wash and dry my razors after each shave. OCD at its finest. My laziness on the bronze is removing the patina after several months. This is really not a big deal since the product I use makes it relatively simple. Flitz. I keep all my razors on a stand.Point taken. Athena head crown handle?I don’t seem to care for the lighter weight of titanium razors but I just love a stainless steel razor head on top of a titanium handle. I also like bronze and brass razor heads on hollow bronze handles. That 40 to 45 grams for a handle is my sweet spot.
Absolutely not your fault.Sorry the shipping caused you so much trouble.
I had the bronze and I’m now on the waiting list for the titanium, hopefully not on the bottom of a list that’s longer than whats available.
No, the Athena is an anomaly for me. The handle is much heavier than my norm, but seems to disappear when in use. I have a 40 gram Wolfman hollow handle and when I tried it with the Athena, I immediately switched back to the OEM handle.Athena head crown handle?
It must be the finger butt rest (tm). The handle is much heavier than my norm, but seems to disappear when in use.
Athena head crown handle?
FWIW, this stand from Nortoncustomdesign at Etsy is great for displaying the razors and at the same time allowing the heads to air dry.Nice collection there @walpan - and coincidentally a great side view of the Ares. Those teeth are much more bent than Theo’s website makes me believe.
Thanks! O and keep up the OCD - it’s much more fun to have company while doing my post shave gear routine
I share this sentiment.I should probably say I’m sorry you sold it, but, that would be a lie.
This is where I keep finding myself returning to as well. It balances out the heads of my Athena, Gamechanger and Overlander nicely.I don’t seem to care for the lighter weight of titanium razors but I just love a stainless steel razor head on top of a titanium handle. It will seem like forever.Well, I succumbed, finally. How long does it take to arrive in the US?
