Kyoku Shave Cream - Abort mission

Received a sample of this cream and gave it a try this morning. I'd read somewhere that it was brushless but on the sachet it said 'Apply with brush or hands'. I thought I'd give it a go with a brush. That was my first mistake. I tried whipping it up a bit in the bowl but soon realised there was not going to be any lather appearing. I then tried to brush it on my face. It is more like a claggy gel and it wouldn't smooth easily across the skin. I went back to the sachet for another dollop and applied it by hand instead.
Then I tried to shave. Oh dear. It provided no glide whatsoever and after the first stroke my razor was gunked up to the point where it was difficult to rinse. I managed 2 further strokes before I gave up.
To save the day, out came the Anthony Logistics for the first time this month. Chalk and cheese. Best shave with the least irritation for ages.

I had the exact same experience when I tried this cream out the first time I decided to try wetshaving, after getting a DE for my 30th birthday- very pasty going on, and absolutely no razor glide to be found at all. Thankfully, I found out about Proraso right after, and ditched the Kyoku.
