Interesting take on a bourbon.







Booker Noe, the founder of Knob Creek, said that everything is better with bourbon. He was a wise man. In honor of him, the company is set to release an experimental new bottle of bourbon for you to enjoy. Knob Creek Smoked Maple takes some classic Knob Creek bourbon and adds flavors of sweet, rich maple syrup and hints of smokiness to the finish. The idea is to pay homage to some of the interests of the company’s founder, he both cured meats in a smokehouse and was interested in crafting maple syrup as well. The 90 proof bourbon will get a nationwide release this month so keep your eyes on the shelves.

All I know is that I tried maple Crown Royal and it was horrid! Ack, what a nasty aftertaste!

Haven't yet tried it, but I'm hoping to. I actually just bought a bottle of regular Knob a couple days ago. I'd also wanted to try the maple Crown, so hearing mountaineer's opinion has me a bit worried now...

I would hope that the Knob might be better, as I am definitely a Knob Creek fan, but I'll wait to hear other opinions or buy an airline bottle to try it. The Crown was actually kinda' interesting at first sip, it tasted like "mmmmm, pancakes", followed rather quickly by an awful artificial aftertaste that would just not die. A buddy of mine still has the bottle and we have threatened to gift it back and forth at Christmas every year like a fruitcake. Neither one of us has ever taken another drink of it.

I bought a bottle of the Jim Beam Maple and it is too sweet on its own, but makes an interesting Old Fashioned.

I would not purchase this but if a friend had it I wouldn't turn down two fingers.
Then if it is delish..........
