Klar Kabinett soap, a contender?

I had a sample of this soap lying around and just decided to use it the other night.

WOW. I was surprised the how slick the lather was. Really caught me off guard, and gave me an even better shave than my Arko does.

Who else has used this?? Thoughts? Comments? Could this be the biggest little known secret?

+1

Its awesome stuff, though the rose scent is kind of one dimensional and slightly synthetic. However for the price, quantity, and quality of shave its off the charts. Plus it lasts forever, its sold as a soft soap, but mine is rather hard.

Yeah mine's hard too. I wonder why this soap doesnt get a lot of commotion around here.

There is no tallow, until a couple months ago I thought a good soap had to have it. Now aver this, TFC, MdC, etc I'm fine with or with out it. Plus like I said the scent leaves something to be desired, and the regular pucks are so expensive, when people see twice as much for half the price they assume its just garbage.... or at least I did until it had some very good recommendations.

Plus as good as it is, its almost pricing itself by Arko by volume. If you want an exceptional cheep soap of questionable scent for a bargin price, $3 for a stick of Arko is a much smaller risk than $15~20 for Klar.

Yeah thats exactly what I was thinking, It almost makes no sense on paper compared to Arko. I guess its more of an experience it to enjoy it kind of thing.

I'll still take the Klar any day of the week over Arko. I dont hate Arko and I can even handle the scent, but I just like the way Klar lathers and shaves better.

Best value in wet shaving in my opinion. 16 bucks buys you 500 grams of some of the finest soap on the market.

Scent is very nice, not overly powerful. Lather is wonderfully rich and quite slick. The simple veggie formulation leaves my skin feeling soft and supple. Makes for a very nice daily driver soap.

I love my Arko, but Klar Kabinett blows it out of the water without even trying! A great soap, if you ask me! I have also often wondered why it doesn't get more love around here than it does.

If you like rose or if you do not mind rose-scented soaps KK is a great soap. It is a potently fragranced soap so if you are on the fence you will probably find it too much.

I bought it about 2 months ago and have yet to use it...partially because of the amount of soaps I have and the scent just does not do it for me. As SmoovD stated, it is POTENT. I was able to smell it through all of the packaging when it arrived in the mail. I gave some to my father and some to my brother and my father enjoys it, no word from my brother. I will have to give it a test run this week. The Klar Klassic is one of my favorite soaps, probably my number 2 or 3 non-tallow (MdC being number 1 and SMN being a contender with Klar Klassic). The scent of Klassic is much more my taste.

I find that the scent is like a rose version of MWF. We can agree that MWF has a strong scent in the fact that you can def smell it, but the scent itself isn't overpowering.

The rose scent from the Klar is strong in that same sense, but its more of a clean soapy soft rose scent than an in your face flowery perfume rose.
