Kent BK 12

Any BK12 users? I bought a BK 8 last summer and love it. I've come close a couple of times to ordering the BK 12 but backed off, fearing that it might just be too big even for a guy who really likes large brushes. Now I've got the urge once again so any comments welcome, including vendor suggestions. Thanks.

I just got a BK8 a few days ago. I cannot imagine using a 12 as I find the 8 to be borderline too big for me. That being said, if the 12 feels like a giant 8, it would be awesome.....

Do you shave your head?

Larger brushes hold more lather and are very good for large areas to shave such as head or legs.

For shaving your beard they are more of a novelty than a useful item.

Now I like big brushes and have a few but I find that they do not get the use that my other brushes do.

I owned a BK12, but didn't keep it for long. I use large brushes almost exclusively, so the issue isn't simply the size of the knot. The problem is that the soft hair, large knot (31mm) and high loft (64mm) team up to create a ridiculously large bloom.

I've owned it twice.... Great brush. If I hadn't given my total Fidelity to my Simpson Duke 3, it would be a contender for my sole brush. If I went that route, my Duke would be headed to Rome and into Marco's home.

I love my BK12 - I'm into a Big Brush Thing right now....

I recommend, OP, that you give it a try - how else will you know if it's for you or not?

It's huge! I owned one a few years ago and enjoyed it for a while but then lost interest. Everyone should try one.

I really enjoy my BK8, but I think that the BK12 would be just too large for me. However, I say that if you already have the BK8 and you are even considering the BK12, then you should simply go ahead. In a worst case scenario, you will place it on BST and it will be purchased within minutes...

Yes Al,

I've owned a BLK12(black handle) for a couple years. Its by far the softest brush I have and very luxurious. However,I don't use it much because it is a little too floppy for me. It has some backbone but I like stiffer brushes.

I have a vintage Kent, I think it's a 10 and its huge. It's a hair bigger than 28mm and I love it. Don't know if this helps or not.

Thanks for all the comments although I am still undecided. I do like large brushes, my favorite for several years has been a Plisson 16 which is large but the Kent will likely make it seem small by comparison. I'll likely get one in the next couple of months.
