JW Green and Gold being discontinued? New Platinum Label?

Got my weekly email today from the large liquor store chain here in the Chicago area (Binny's) and was surprised to read that JW is discontinuing the Green and Gold line? Have to admit it's been awhile since I've had the Green and don't think I've ever had the Gold.

Also they're coming out with a new "platinum line", but only available outside the U.S. . So I guess if you're a fan of either it's time to stock up.

I just logged in at www.johnniewalker.com, and there's no mention of either the Green or Gold being discontinued. The eMail you received may just mean that it will no longer be carried by that particular vendor.

Likewise, I can't find any mention of a Platinum line, but my access to the site is for a U.S. viewer, so if it is destined for overseas only, it may not show up here.

They're still around. I saw both in the store a couple of days ago and you can buy them online. However, there is no telling how long stocks will last.

Working on a bottle of green now. I've been noticing the prices of Green and Gold steadily creeping up though. Might have to get a few bottles to hide away until something else I like as much comes along.

Sales must be slow on Green and Gold. No better way to move a product than to announce that it's being discontinued.
