What's new

Just ordered Cella

Hey all,
I have only been DE shaving since June 20. So far I have only used creams (TOBS, Proraso, and D.R. Harris). I really wanted to try a soap next, so I just ordered Cella.
Now comes my question...How to Build a lather with it?
Do I do the same as with a cream, or do something different?
Any help would be appriated.

Cella is an incredible soap. Load your wet brush directly on it and face lather is the way I do it.. I always use a boar brush for Cella.

Marco is our resident expert on lathering Cella and someone will soon post a link to his excellent post on this fine soap.

Doug

Do you tell fortunes on the weekend? May be a good way to earn some shaving stuff money, you have a gift!

Currently Top of the Charts for the 8th week running in my den.

Take advice above and face lather; wet face, quite wet brush, load and apply. I do put some warm water on the top of the puck to soften it even more whilst showering then just dump that water and load. It's what works for me.

I also dont load heavy - if i have to reload the brush for a 3rd pass/touch ups I just swirl on the puck. It's right there!

The next soap I buy will be AOS Lemon. Then Cella! I see the 150g tub on eBay for $12.50 shipped. Did you find it any cheaper? Looking forward to another review!

Just tried CELLA for the first time Friday morning, great stuff
Cella Bella!, Wonderful smell, wonderful lather.
No problems building a nice healthy lather with it

The only problem is this: I now have a tub of CELLA, a tub of MWF, and a tub or Proraso (plus a tube of KMF) fighting for my attention every morning.
I think I need to make a chart.
Such a great time to be alive -so many wonderful soaps - so little time!

Just wait until you have a dozen or more other options!

There's something very cool about the kilo bricks. Especially when they are red with an old man building lather on his face. :001_cool:

Cella is my favorite soap--within my rotation of 20 soaps. My OCD response? I devised a 26-week soap-using calendar (x2 for a full year), with some soaps getting variable amounts of use according to my preferences. Cella tops the list, with much more use than soap #2. Meanwhile, the rest of my Cella brick remains tucked away as slices in ziplock bags in the drawer of a cabinet in my air-conditioned work office, behind hurricane-proof glass and well above the threat of flooding, etc. Safe and sound.
