What's new

Just ordered a Vie-Long Horse Hair Shaving Brush 12711

Just ordered a new brush. I have only been de shaving for about 2months and have decided to upgrade from my ej pure badger. I was going to buy a super badger or a silver tip but decided to go for a horse brush and leave the others for bit later. I use both soaps and creams.

After all the reading up I have done on horse brushes I think they may be pretty good. Hopefully I'll get my brush in the next week and then let you all know what it's like.

Looks like a similar knot to my 12705, slightly larger, slightly less loft.

I think you're going to love it. If it seems scritchy at first, persevere as the resulting softness is worth it.

I enjoy my Vie Long horse hair. I have the 13061 model though

Have used my brush for about a couple of weeks now. It hasn't softened much but then again neither was it too harsh to start with.It lathers quite well although not as quickly as my ej pure badger and it requires more water to do so. It has plenty of backbone which I like and although I'm still kind of a newbie(only 3 months of experience) I believe I will become a face latherer beside thats what I do most of the time.

The brush seems well made, I'm very satisfied and imho would recommend it to anyone. Due to expensive shipping charges it cost me 20euros/26usd shipping included. After using it I would be willing to pay much more for it...

I recommend anyone who had not tried horse brushes to do so. The bad smell it has in the beginning is tolerable and fades quickly, you will be so happy with your new product it will hardly bother you.

Will last some pics in the next few days..

Greetings to all.

It took a while to post my pics. These are my 2 shaving brushes. EJ pure badger and Vie Long 12711 Horse Hair. The horse hair has more backbone, the badger holds more water and lathers a bit more quickly. I like both :)
