Picked up the Treet Sample Pack a while ago.. been working my way through the Carbon Blades all of which I call Top Self... sadly they are also One & Done.. but oh so Smooth!

Leaf Razor has made a return in the House for Leg Shaving.. Wife approves sorta.. its under Trial.

More Barrister&Mann arrives today.. knowing they all less than 90 mins drive away from me!

Last week I decided to try the much talked about Gillette Silver Blue (GSB). Bought 100 of these blades right before Gillette pulled out of Russia.

Placed the GSB into my Gillette No59 Razor; a razor that I've been using for the last 3 months with a number of different blades to great success... yet from the first pass I knew something was not right. Dud Blade? Did I not prep enough before hand?

I stopped after the second cheek and opened up the razor, took out the blade and placed into my Gillette New Reissue.

What just happened? How did the blade suddenly become wonderful?

Finished up the Monday shave, now looking forward to Wednesday and Friday.

Wednesday arrived and my reactions with a smile was, 'I did keep the blade in this razor?' as it glided across my face.

Friday I was just smiling the entire time as the stubble just disappeared with me asking the question, ' I do have a blade in this razor right?'

Heard it before, yes Razors can make all the difference with a Blade!

The only thing I dislike about the GSB is how a good percentage of the tucks in the display card are always opened already because the glue closing the tuck flaps is low-quality or not enough is used. Looking at the dates on my blades, they are all circa 2021-2022, so maybe the age has something to do with it.

After such a weird start with the GSB; thankfully ended being a good blade, I opted to try the Gillette Nacet for the first time this past week for Face Shaving.

From the get go I could tell that the Nacet is nowhere near as sharp as the GSB.

Finished my third and final shave with it this morning and all I can say is, I now have more Head Shaving Blades!

The ones you have are modern GSBs which I found to markedly different from the vintage ones. I need to revisit them but they weren’t fun last week.

Gillette 7 o’ Clock Super Platinum

Got a 10 pack tuck a while back and gave it its first try this week. Beginning to suspect that I prefer Platinum blades over basic Stainless. This is one of those blades if it was still in production I would get more. Sadly the best deals I can find post Gillette leaving Russia are close to daylight robbery.

9 blades left, so 1 a year moving forward.

Third and final shave was so ridiculously smooth, left me with DFS++

So far as I know, the ever costly Gillette Super Platinums are made in India

A little homework and yes, made in India… yet such a ripoff price wise. Glad I have stock of other equally good or better blades.
