Just got this strop in the mail.is it any good?

Hi all, I need the collective expertise of this fine, knowledgeable community. I just received this strop in the mail that I got off of the BST, and it's my first strop other than the poor man's strop I got from Larry when I bought the Whipped Dog starter kit. I didn't pay very much for the strop from the BST, and I'm wondering if it is any good at all? It's got some sort of logo on it that I have never seen before, and I thought maybe you guys would be able to tell me what I have on my hands. Close up of the logo:

It doesn't look like anything special, but the buyer assured me that many people like it. I'm kind of skeptical, but I'd like to offer a big thank you to the B&B community for all of the help you've given me over the past few months. If any of you have a strop with this logo, I will take it off your hands so that you don't have to be burdened with what is clearly an inferior product. I'll even cover shipping.

Seriously though - thank you all for your help and advice while I was pondering the first strop. Thanks to you, I decided to be patient and wait for the strop I wanted rather than get my strop fix and still buy the one I wanted later. The strop in the picture above was purchased from Jon (Raithskar); it's a 2.5" English Bridle strop with linen component and paddle handles. I tried it for the first time this morning...wowza...this strop just exudes quality and invests the bearer with pride of ownership.

And to Jon...I knew I got a great deal when I PM'ed "I'll take it!!!", but my goodness...I had to call the fire department yesterday when I saw what a smokin' hot deal you gave me!

Nice Strop; you did VERY well & Jon's a true gentleman (he tought me a LOT about honing on coticules when I first started out)....Nice score!! :thumbup1:

Well I have to say you got me there. I'm reading along and keep looking back and forth at the pic; read a little more; etc. "This guy has no idea... I've got to post here and help him out."

It would have been a really good April Fool's post!

Grats on the first TM strop. Be careful they are very additive! Despite Tony having a very limited output the last few years I still managed to grab 6 of them!

Yeah.....I pretty much took a beating on that one.

I just could not justify keeping it with little to no use. I am glad you like it Matt, it will serve you for many years.

I was reading your post and and though you were serious at first!!!!! I was going to offer to take it off your hands!!!! I almost passed out because I saw that deal on BST a few minutes too late!!!! Great buy, awesome strop!

No kidding...I could barely believe my eyes...I banged that PM out so fast and waited anxiously for the response...one of the longest minutes of my life :001_rolle

And Kent, I can believe they are additive...and addictive...! I wouldn't mind picking up a few more samples of his work.
