Some updates.

Worked with the Napoleonic style handle for about an hour. A dremel with a drill bit and off we go.
I still have the smell of singed hair and the knot material in my nose:frown: Don't worry, I weared a face mask and goggles.
Good thing is that the handle is made from 2 pieces that screw together.

The bottom is filled with some kind of "clay" that gets very soft when drilling through it. It holds the knot as the handle is hollow. Very distinctive smell.

What do you guys think, should I fill the handle a little bit to make it heavier?

All out:

Now to widen the hole to make it fit a 22mm knot. I'll go with finest.

There was a metal ring around the top which I removed- I want a 22mm knot, with the ring, only the 20mm knot would fit.

The second brush was unknoted in 5 minutes.

The knot was reddish (unlike the brass plisson, which was cement like)

Intresting observation, below the knot, there was the same "clayish" soft stuff that smelled exactly like the Plisson brass. I am fairly certain this is a genuine vintage horn plisson!:w00t: Even if not a Plisson, it's still a brush of great quality!
She will get a 20mm dense in finest.

And the great thing is, I can drill the knot easily as deep as I want so I can have the loft as I please!

Good deal for 1 Euro. But the shipping cost 19:redface:

Woah. That's some good eBay work. Do I need to change the settings on search to get international items? Sometimes I get em, other times I don't
