Jimps

Hi, how to clean and polish jimps when restoring old razors without any dedicated file? Dremel does not work for me. The popular files are of different size.

My bimetallic brush is too still. Depending on the amount of rust, steel wool with WD-40 may work. I also fold sandpaper in half and just go back and forth with WD-40. I don’t try to fit the paper between each jimp.

I don't like using brass on steel because it can leave an amber 'fingerprint' behind. They do work though. I switched to stainless dremel brush wheels, works fine for me. Seems to last longer than the brass. Wear eye protection.

Ok, thanks. I’ve already done it with brass and dremel. Not perfect (in terms of polishing) but at least it is clean.
