japanese straights

Today i snagged a nib,nos, japanese straight razor. I've been shaving with western style straight for a few years. I'm guessing due to size and style of the jp model there may be some difference in the shave technique. Also i'm told the honing process is different. Can anybody give me some straight advice? Thanks in advance.

If it's a western-style Japanese straight (i.e. folding), then it's just like a normal western straight for usage and honing.
If it's a kamisori , then you should visit Kamisori Korner for lots of great information.
