This Torrey needed some scales and I was anxious to do it. I think it turned out well and it closes nice and straight. I used a slight wedge and peened the pins. Feel free to post your thoughts
Thank you Gentleman! There was great satisfaction in completing these scales and having them work correctly.
I also wanted to add that the scales were cut with close to the pattern I drew up. After that, I put them together with two sided tape and then finished the forming with files, sand paper, and a sanding block. it was a longer process than if I had used a belt sander.
The pins were peened with a 4 oz. ball peen hammer and a piece of scrap brass, drilled and ground with three different sizes.
