What's new

J. Drew 7 day set

Yes it's a score but I figured I'd post it here. It's a beautiful burl box with brass inalys. Inside is a set of J. Drew razors with my favorite style blade. They just arrived today but I've already ordered the stock to repair the cracked scales on two of the razors. I'll also restore the box along with the blades. The large jimps on the top of the spine are very nice but the very fine ones on the thumb notch that cover nearly the length of the bottom of the shaft are very cool. Don't think I've ever seen them so fine.
While researching the name as it didn't show up in my books I happened upon another site where the same blade was being discussed. Turns out the great great grandson of J. Drew participated in the conversation adding to the history of these pieces. Just blew me away.
And I have to admit,,,, I stole this box. Just my opinion!

Thanks guys!
Yeah, the case is great. I'm thinking of borrowing some ideas from it and building a few more for some of my other " special" razors. I also can't wait to hit the razors and get them cleaned up a bit.
Here is a case I just did for a client if you haven't seen it in the Hobbyist Gallery. Not quite the same thing but fun none the less. Now use up some of the exotic woods I have on hand ,, inlay some brass ,, a bit of carving here and there,,, Oh the possibilities.
