What's new

Ive noticed something about your Shave gears.

IMHO...the biggest benefit of boar is that you can find excellent quality in the $ 15-20 dollar range, with badger you really need to spend at least $ 30-40.

They both feel very different in the face, and I sometimes feel it is an apple and oranges comparison.

Only one way to find out, buy yourself a boar brush they are relatively cheap to try. I highly recommend the Omega professional (the really tall one with the silver coloured handle). I had the same line of thinking you did, except I started with a cheap boar brush from the chemist which was useless and kept falling apart so it took me a while to trust in boar again. As everyone else has said, when you break them in they perform amazingly well, I use mine for my soaps and save my badger for the creams, I find the stiffness of the boar bristles a good way to work up lather on the puck, and it still feels soft on the face when applying it (I am also a face latherer).
Just try it!!!
