What's new

I've never seen this GEM SE before

Got these in the mail today.

The gold one I've seen and already own one of them. They are from the 1950s. But I've never seen the brushed nickel one before. It's very sleek, shiny and quite heavy. It's not in the Wait's Safety Razor Compendium either. I'm guessing it's from the 1960s. Anyone know?

How ya like my MS Paint skills? :001_tt2:

It's a Gem Contour but I don't know the production dates. This was the the next to last SE Gem, the last one being the Contour II which features a head similar to the featherweight (no push button) and an all plastic handle.

I really like the Contour. It's very similar to the Personna injector in looks. A very modern design.

Well now I've got a name for it. GEM Contour. Thanks!

I've got the final model, the Contour II, which has a flip top head. I'm missing the pushbutton Contour, though. The Contour II is a great shaver. Those last two models did a pretty good job of looking modern, but it wasn't enough to keep them in production.:001_unsur

I just got a gold/black push button and a featherweight in the mail the other day. I used the push button this morning - I think I used the wrong cream- it was a little rough!

GentsInstinct,

What lovely razors :001_smile

Makes my 1930s Ever-Ready look a bit plain !

Have fun !

Best regards
